Offspring is a Geelong founded not-for-profit operating in Kolkata, India. We exist to restore the lives of young women who have experienced modern slavery and human trafficking. We are a registered charity with the ACNC and a proud member of the Freedom Business Alliance.

Offspring’s roots were first planted in 2013, after Founder and CEO, Kristi Davidson, witnessed the hidden underbelly of human trafficking and sexual exploitation while abroad.

She saw a need that couldn't be unseen, an injustice faced by so many women, yet not widely understood, spoken about, or fought in her own community. She saw women bought and sold like product, girls treated like commodity- someone's sister, someone's daughter, someone's Offspring.

What Kristi saw, and felt, changed the course of her life and the lives of many other young women she would soon impact. Her compassion became conviction, and Offspring was born.

Offspring's roots grew from the belief that fighting a global crisis is possible when we work together, and that every girl, everywhere deserves to feel safe, valued and loved.

What started as a response to witnessed suffering, has now grown into an international organisation with a team of staff, volunteers, partners, and communities, dedicated to creating brighter futures for young women who have survived human trafficking, one life at a time.

The first step in growing Offspring from the ground, was launching our Aftercare Centre in Kolkata, India. A safe space for young women who have survived modern slavery, providing trauma-informed care, vocational training, daily education, an independent income, life skills and safe homes. Here, we empower our trainees to rebuild their lives and restore their futures, reminding them of their value and equipping them with the tools to heal and thrive.  

In 2024, we expanded our mission with the launch of our Prevention Unit, also in Kolkata, designed to reach girls at high risk of becoming trafficked, breaking the cycle before it begins. 

Back home, Offspring raises awareness through educational programs and events, speaking at schools, workplaces and groups across Australia. We’ve reached thousands of students and engaged with a wide range of businesses, empowering Aussies with the knowledge and recourses to make a tangible difference.  We know modern slavery can seem like a big topic to tackle, but we also know the first step in seeing real change, is understanding.

Our Offspring branches have sprouted across a few exciting directions over the years, from the launch of our pre-loved Boutique, Offspring Collective, to running our Her Story Exposure Trips and hosting our yearly fundraising & educational events.

While we work hard to encourage change making in Australia, we work twice as hard in India, welcoming new trainees, breaking the cycle of sex trafficking, restoring futures and empowering our young women so they may walk confidently into a renewed life.

At our very core, absolutely everything we do at Offspring is about creating brighter futures for young women who deserve the fundamental right to live a life free from human trafficking.
